AppleID Change

If you use an @ncsu.edu email address as your Apple ID for a personal iTunes or iCloud account, you will soon be required to change it.

NC State has claimed the @ncsu.edu domain with Apple — this means individuals will no longer be able to use any email address that ends in @ncsu.edu to log in to their Apple account as of Feb. 21, 2024. To avoid service disruptions, change your email address now at appleid.apple.com or directly from your Apple device.

If you would like to continue to use your NCSU e-mail for university Apple Device(s), you can still do so with a temporary e-mail address in the following format (unityID@unity.ncsu.edu instead of unityID@ncsu.edu as this is technically a mail alias that works). You will still need to update the e-mail address and it will not be automatically done for you.

If you do not update your e-mail address before February 21st you will have 60 days in order to update your AppleID e-mail address. After that if you do not update your AppleID account e-mail address you will no longer be able to use your AppleID account.

The data associated with your Apple account, including App Store and iTunes purchases or files and photos stored in iCloud, will not be affected. You will be able to access your data as usual when logging in with your new email address. NC State will never have access to any of your data.
