How to initiate a remote assistance request from ARE IT?
- Sign on to NCSU’s VPN Service. If you are on-campus you can skip this step.
- Open Start Menu –>Hit on ARE Remote Assistance. We will make sure that the machine can accept Remote Assistance but will not actually generate an invite.
- Invite someone you trust to help you –> Save this invitation as a file. If you are able to get to this screen that means your computer is set up and can accept Remote Assistance invitations proceed to Step 5. If you get an error that states you need to repair, please click repair. Once this is complete, proceed to Step 5
- Go to https://myip.ncsu.edu/ to get your IP address, please copy this info. Send cals_are@help.ncsu.edu an e-mail including your IP address from this website so they can remotely assist you.
